How Does MovingPlace.com Provide the Best Interstate Moving Estimates?

Movingplace blends the convenience of full service moving with the value of a rental truck. You load, we drive, you save. Why risk driving a rented moving truck across the country or pay the high price of full-service moving? Take control of your move and peace of mind in the process. Movingplace LLC, (License #MC807665) will arrange for a moving truck to come to your home. In most service locations, that moving van will be equipped with a loading ramp (to easily access the moving truck), a bulkhead wall (to safely separate your goods from any others on the truck), and a dolly. You Load. We Drive to your new home where you unload. There are options to have up to 3 days for loading and 3 days for unloading. Question to MovingPlace

from Josh M. in CA - Wednesday, October 18, 2017

How much would a long distance moving truck from Los Angeles, CA to Corvallis, Oregon cost? Also, are there planned stops for night stay if required? Lastly, are the trucks prepared for snowy weather and terrain?

MovingPlace Response

Hi Josh, We don't put pricing on the forum because the pricing fluctuates with the time of year and sizes of shipments. I see you filled out a quote form, so we will email current pricing to you. Transit on the long distance moving from CA to OR is 2-3 days. We can get on the phone with you and figure out exactly when you would need to load to meet your delivery date needs. Yes, all of our long distance trucks are prepared for snowy and winter weather. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Deby Z. in MA - Tuesday, October 17, 2017

Hello We are planning to move next June from MA to CA and have a house and one car we want transported. Do you go by weight? I am not going to bring a lot of furniture maybe just a few rooms worth plus boxes. How can I get a quote? Thanks

MovingPlace Response

Hi Deby, We charge based on the amount of space that you use on the moving truck, not by the weight. If you fill out our quote form, one of our relocation specialists will put together some pricing options that might work for you. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Kimberly A. in NY - Tuesday, October 17, 2017

Hello, I'm requesting a quote for a shared moving arrangement. I don't need to move until August 17, 2018 from Brooklyn, N.Y. to Monterey, CA. I have 6 solid pieces of furniture 1 42inch flat screen tv, a small DVD case, tempered glass tv stand, papasan circular chair with foot stool and cushion and approximately about 20-25 boxes. I will drive my car and as much belongings I can fit in the car as possible to California. Again I would like to get a quote for a shared moving arrangement across country. Thanks.

MovingPlace Response

Hi Kimberly, I see that you filled out our quote request form as well. You should have already gotten an email with the pricing for a shared moving truck. Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can help in any way. Thanks! Movingplace 800-876-6839

Question to MovingPlace

from Naomi S. in CA - Saturday, October 07, 2017

We are moving from Bay Point CA to Las Vegas NV at the end of the month. Will a 4 bedroom house and 10x7 storage unit fit in the largest container you have?

MovingPlace Response

Hi Naomi, For a move as large as yours, we would recommend a full 53 foot tractor trailer. To answer your question directly, yes, that would normally fit into a full 53 foot moving van. That is the largest size that anyone would have available. If you have too much stuff, we can get a second smaller moving truck to you for the overflow within 24 hours. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Melanie B. in MA - Tuesday, October 03, 2017

Hi, We have an SUV and Trailer that we would like driven from our offices in Foxboro, MA to our other office in Columbus, IN. So, I'd like to hire a driver... Is this something your company can help with? If so, could you send me the rate. We would pay for hotel and flight back (I can look up quotes if needed for you). Thank you, Melanie

MovingPlace Response

Hi Melanie, We only provide driving services for moving trucks that we provide. We get this question a lot and it is impossible to insure a driver that is driving a non-DOT certified truck that is provided by a third party. The only way to find a driver to do something like that is to post it on Craig's List. I am not so sure that I would be comfortable with that personally, but it is really the only option as no company does what you are asking. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Ethel S. in GA - Saturday, September 30, 2017

Interested in a piggy back move to CA. Cost and how much advance notice?

MovingPlace Response

Hi Ethel, Unless you order the entire moving truck, all of our moves are on a shared moving truck. When the truck comes to your home, it will be empty. You will load right up against the front wall of the truck. Once you are done loading, a bulkhead wall goes up to separate your goods into their own compartment. We have the truck taken to the local trucking terminal where boxed and crated commercial freight will fill out the the rest of the truck. We never leave your goods unattended in front of another customer's home! We need about a week's notice to be able to schedule a move on a shared moving truck. If you want to rent a whole tractor trailer, we can usually do that with 3 day's notice. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Steve C. in NY - Tuesday, September 26, 2017

Would like an estimate for a move from Smithtown NY to St. Augustine FL around October 17th. We only have a small dresser, two end tables, a metal headboard for a double bed, and about ten boxes to move. Also, will the truck be a small one or a large shared moving truck! We can't have a truck parked at the house for more than a few hours during the day. Thank you.

MovingPlace Response

Hey Steve, We get this question a lot. The smallest moving truck that we provide is 28 feet long. We can generally get in and out of apartment complexes with that unit. There are a couple of ways to handle loading in limited access locations. With the small amount of stuff that you have to move, I would recommend a "live load". A live load means that the driver will wait while you load. There is generally one hour free and an hourly charge for each additional hour that he waits. Or, if you need several hours, you may be able to do a "same day drop and pick". This is where the driver drops the truck in the morning and picks it up in the afternoon. Charges for this vary by location, so it would be best to call us at 800-876-6839 to see which would be the easiest and most economical way for you to move. Movingplace
