How Does MovingPlace.com Provide the Best Interstate Moving Estimates?

Movingplace blends the convenience of full service moving with the value of a rental truck. You load, we drive, you save. Why risk driving a rented moving truck across the country or pay the high price of full-service moving? Take control of your move and peace of mind in the process. Movingplace LLC, (License #MC807665) will arrange for a moving truck to come to your home. In most service locations, that moving van will be equipped with a loading ramp (to easily access the moving truck), a bulkhead wall (to safely separate your goods from any others on the truck), and a dolly. You Load. We Drive to your new home where you unload. There are options to have up to 3 days for loading and 3 days for unloading. Our moving truck service is simple and, best of all, inexpensive when compared to full service moving!

Question to MovingPlace

from Andrea B. in IL - Sunday, July 24, 2016

I am moving from Chicago to Culver City. I don't have anyone to help me unload once I arrive in Culver City so I need to hire movers. I can't leave the moving truck at my complex overnight so would the driver be able to stay while I unload and then leave right after?

MovingPlace Response

Yes, Andrea. That is what the industry calls a "Live Load". The driver will wait with the moving truck while you unload and then leave. There are usually wait time charges associated with this. The first hour is free and then each additional hour that the driver waits is accrues a charge. That cost varies depending on where in the country you are moving. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Andrea W. in TN - Saturday, July 23, 2016

Do you provide price matches?

MovingPlace Response

If you have a price from a competitor that provides the same service that we do, we are generally able to match or beat it. We are very competitively priced in most markets so you won't have the need to bring a lower price to the table.... we want to be that company right up front! That being said, we cannot price match in every area of the country. Please give us a call and let us compare apples to apples and see if we can earn your business! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Tari S. in OH - Saturday, July 23, 2016

My daughter is planning to move back to Shaker Heights, OH (Cleveland) from Torrance, CA She has a few pieces of furniture (Chair and ottoman, bookshelf) and about 10 boxes - books, miscellaneous, clothes. She also has a 2007 Toyota Yaris Manual shift that she would like to ship as well. How can this be done in the least expensive manner, with the least amount of problems?! What kind of pricing would this entail? Thanks. Tari

MovingPlace Response

Hi Tari, We get this question a lot. The best way to move a small amount of furniture and a car is to split the shipment. We should put the household items on a moving van and then ship the car on an auto transporter. We can arrange for all of this to happen about the same time and it is the safest way to ship everything. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Cassandra N. in OH - Saturday, July 23, 2016

Can I move 1bedroom,am. Sofa 1chair,2flat screens extra q mattress set and personal boxes plus have my Honda Fit towed behind moving van? If so I need a quote. From oh to Clearwater fl

MovingPlace Response

Hi Cassandra, Kind of... We can move your car and furniture, but we do not tow the cars behind the moving vans. The cars are normally shipped on the big auto transporters (trucks that you see driving around with 8 or 9 cars loaded on them). The household goods would go on a separate moving van. If you would like a quote, you can either fill out the form on this page (we move people, we won't sell your information) or you can give us a call at 800-876-6839. Thanks! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Diane H. in WA - Sunday, July 17, 2016

Do you provide moving supplies to secure items inside the trailer? I have packing boxes but not moving blankets, or bungee ropes. I have boxes and packing materials. We do not have livingroom furniture, but do have a number of clothes wardrobes, so it is difficult to estimate our needs. We will be moving into an in-law suite in our son's new home in Kentucky. They do not close until August 15th and we will be away during August. We anticipate a move mid-September.

MovingPlace Response

Hi Diane, For most of our service levels, the moving truck comes to your home empty. It has a loading ramp and a bulkhead wall inside. You load into front (nose) of the moving van and then the wall secures your goods in the truck. There are additional places every 16 inches inside the truck to secure your items, but we do not provide the straps for that. You can purchase moving straps very cheaply at Home Depot and other big box retailers. If you are having trouble estimating the amount of space that you will need, please give us a call and we can walk you through some helpful tips on how to do that. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from J W. in MO - Friday, July 08, 2016

I have 3 cars (Nissan altima, buick lesabre, ford crown victoria) a king size bed, clothes and other furniture items such as mirrors decorations, small kitchen appliances, 3 flat screen tvs, dresser and a few other small items. Would it be cheaper to do the car transporter for the cars and a moving van?

MovingPlace Response

It depends on where you are moving from and to. We can certainly price it both ways for you and see which option best fits your needs and your budget. For this type of move, it would probably be best to call in and let us talk out the details and options for moving your cars and furniture. Movingplace
