Customers Trust MovingPlace

Overall, the move went well and the team was satisfactory. Would give a 3.5 if allowed....they were nice guys who just need more experience. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: on time. communicative. respectful to each other and myself. conscientious of space and belongings. positive attitudes- no complaining or hesitation re a BIG job. FAST! We unloaded 2 pods in less than 2 hours CONS: no floor coverings were put down on hardwood or carpeting, resulting in soiling of carpets on stairs and bedrooms. There was a pretty sizable chunk taken out of one wall that was not discovered until after they left, which was disappointing (would have preferred that they told us rather than discovering it later that night). it will be easy enough to fix. They did not have a dolly or any carry straps for larger or awkward items, which also made for some cringe-worthy moments with some of our more sizable pieces. Items were haphazardly left in rooms with no organization or confirmation as to placement preferences from owner. Overall, these guys were more good than bad, and I would consider them again for a smaller move. A huge cross country move into a 4 bedroom house may have been a bit more for them than they were ready for. We should have taken the time to do a walkthrough afterwards to address some of the placement, and survey any damage, so that's on us. Basically nice guys who tried hard. Overall a positive experience.

Scope of job: Unload two 16-foot 1-800-Pack-Rat containers into ~2000 sq ft 2.5 floor residence w/ full basement and 3 car detached garage. One container was curbside about 125 feet from the residence, significantly impacting unloading time. Was the crew on time?: No. 20 minutes late. This was expected after using this company once before when they ran 8 minutes late. Plan for arrival up to 20 minutes after the one-hour window provided. Was the crew prepared for the job?: Generally speaking, yes. I should have alerted them that more than one hand truck and dolly was needed due to the distance from the container to the residence. Was the crew hard working: Yes, though I would have liked to have seen a little more attention and hustle from one of the crew members. The other crew member acted with a sense of urgency that helped compensate. I participated in the unloading of boxes to try to minimize time to unload the containers. Was the crew respectful of my property and goods? Yes. I am writing this review approximately 2 weeks after service, and I have yet to detect any damage to my goods or property. Some unavoidable things like getting sweat and skin marks on storm doors because of lousy dampeners happened but that's picking nits. Nothing that couldn't be easily addressed with household cleaning solution at the end of the job. Would I use them again? Yes. I originally ordered a two-man crew for 2 hours. The crew was willing to stay an additional 3 hours due to poor planning on my part, and they even had 4 additional crew members contribute for the final 20 minutes of the 5 total hours needed at no extra cost. Overall, if you need a crew who can efficiently load and unload a container into a residence and can tolerate late arrival up to 20 minutes, then this is a great service for you. The crew was able-bodied and worked diligently just like I expected.

Super fast and respectful! This move would have been impossible without them. It took us all day (like 6-7 hrs) to pack the truck and I was moving out of the 1st floor. They unpacked the truck and took everything to the 3rd floor in 2 hrs!!! I'm Amazed! I don't look forward to moving again but I can feel a little relief when I do because I know I'll call Lucas Moving & Home Services for help again.
