How Does MovingPlace.com Provide the Best Interstate Moving Estimates?

Movingplace blends the convenience of full service moving with the value of a rental truck. You load, we drive, you save. Why risk driving a rented moving truck across the country or pay the high price of full-service moving? Take control of your move and peace of mind in the process. Movingplace LLC, (License #MC807665) will arrange for a moving truck to come to your home. In most service locations, that moving van will be equipped with a loading ramp (to easily access the moving truck), a bulkhead wall (to safely separate your goods from any others on the truck), and a dolly. You Load. We Drive to your new home where you unload. There are options to have up to 3 days for loading and 3 days for unloading. Our moving truck service is simple and, best of all, inexpensive when compared to full service moving!

Question to MovingPlace

from GIANNA K. in PA - Monday, November 12, 2018

Hi, I am interested in having custom Kitchen Cabinets transported from FL to PA. Would you be able to give me a price range for something like this?

MovingPlace Response

Hi Gianna, Yes we can. Our minimum shipment is a 4 foot x 8 foot section on the moving van. That should be enough space to ship a full set of custom cabinets or 1 room of furniture if it is loaded properly. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from James L. in CA - Monday, November 12, 2018

I need a car moved from 75451 to 95252. Can you do something like that. I know you sometimes have trucks that are only partially loaded and have enough room for a car.

MovingPlace Response

Hi James, We actually move cars on auto transporters (the big trucks that you see hauling 8 or 9 cars at a time on the interstate). When we do ship a car on a moving van, it is only when someone has rented an entire 53 foot tractor trailer that is designed for that. Either way, we can help with your car shipping! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Marianne B. in CA - Wednesday, November 7, 2018

I need to move my vehicle, a 9'4" standup paddle board, and about 22-25 moving boxes from Murrieta, CA 92563 to Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. I'm looking to have them moved around 11/10. How long will it take and how much would that cost? Also, would I be able to keep my paddleboard on the roof rack of my car and have it transported with my vehicle?

MovingPlace Response

Hi Marianne, It will take about a week for everything to get moved from California to New York. The paddle board would need to go inside the moving truck as the car will be shipped on an auto transporter (the big trucks that haul 8 or 9 cars at a time) and cannot have anything strapped on top. Question to MovingPlace

from Jean C. in CA - Wednesday, November 7, 2018

MovingPlace Response

Hi Jean, Sorry, we are a commercial enterprise for moving household goods. We are not licensed to have passengers on the moving vans. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Pamela B. in IN - Wednesday, November 7, 2018

I'm helping my brother and his family move from Oak Hill, OH to Lake Station, IN how long will that take

MovingPlace Response

Hi Pamela, That is usually going to be next day service. We can arrange for your stuff to be held on the moving truck for longer if you need it. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Angelo C. in NY - Monday, October 22, 2018

Moving from Hicksville NY to Ruskin Florida once my home is built. How long will it take to arrive once the truck is loaded?

MovingPlace Response

The transit time for a long distance move like that is 4 business days. We can give you a little wiggle room on that delivery if you need extra time, etc.

Question to MovingPlace

from joan M. in FL - Monday, October 22, 2018

How much room does the truck and container need? My driveway gate is 11.5 feet wide. Street is paved but drive and yard are not.

MovingPlace Response

The moving trucks are 8.5ft wide, 13ft tall, and 28ft long (exterior dimensions). So, if your driveway is long enough, we should certainly be able to park in it.

Question to MovingPlace

from Shirley H. in CA - Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Hi... We're moving from Shingletown CA to Cave Junction Or. We were going to move things into a storage facility, but the Delta Fire along I-5 has scorched our original plan. Your website says you have both moving trucks AND container moving services. We're not sure a truck unit could fit thru our gate and in our mountain drive (there's no curb parking to keep fire lanes clear). So we're wondering what size moving containers you have as an alternative.... thinking that we could perhaps work with something smaller than a full size van unit. BUT... just in case it could work... what sizes are the truck units you drop off versus the shared units? And, what are the additional charges if we needed like 3 days to load? Final question... do you offer any sort of interim storage options? Our close of escrow in California is 3 days before we close in Oregon, so we need to have our items held in limbo for a few days. Thank you soooooo much!!! :-)

MovingPlace Response

Hi Shirley, The moving trucks are either 53 feet long or 28 feet long. Most neighborhoods will easily accommodate the 28 foot trucks. Those also give you a great deal of flexibility in regards to shipment size because you can load part of it or all of it, your choice. We charge for the amount of space that you end up using. We can give you 3 days to load at no additional charge. After that, it is $75 per day to keep the truck at your home. Once we transport it, longer-term storage is MUCH cheaper. We just need to determine how much storage you will need. Please feel free to give us a call at 800-876-6839 to go over options. Thanks! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Mary G. in TX - Monday, October 8, 2018

Are my things the only ones in the truck. Can I lock my things and am I the only one who can open it

MovingPlace Response

Hi Mary, We do one household shipment per truck. When the moving van arrives at your house, it will be empty. You load up against the front wall and work your way back to your allotted amount of space. Once you are done loading, a bulkhead security wall goes up to secure your items in the front of the truck. We do load commercial freight on the back of the moving truck to finish filling it out, but once a household shipment is on board, the truck does not go to any other homes and is never left unattended. As a result, we have never had a claim for a lost item, ever! Thanks! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Gracie P. in AZ - Tuesday, October 2, 2018

Can I ship my car and my personal items together? I don't have any big furniture except my TVs, just clothes, shoes, etc. I'm moving from phoenix to Milwaukee.

MovingPlace Response

Hi Gracie, We can ship your car and furniture at the same time, but not on the same truck. If you want to ship your car and furniture on the same moving van, you would need to rent an entire 53 foot tractor trailer from us. By shipping your furniture in a small compartment on the moving van and your car on an auto-transporter (the big trucks that haul 8 or 9 cars at a time), you can save a lot of money - and we will coordinate everything for you so that it is convenient.
