Josh Barnes Head of Sales Operations, MovingPlace Josh Barnes is Head of Sales Operations at MovingPlace, where he leads initiatives that improve how customers are matched with the right moving solution and how their moves get coordinated from start to finish. His work sits at the intersection of sales performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency — drawing on technology, automation, and cross-functional partnerships to make the moving process smoother and less stressful for everyone involved. Josh has spent 16 years in the moving and logistics industry, building expertise across household goods and freight carrier and broker operations, labor-only moving services, vendor vetting and management, and the contact center operations that power moving and logistics workflows. Over that time, the teams and operations he has supported have collectively facilitated hundreds of thousands of moving services. What makes Josh’s perspective particularly valuable on cost questions is that he sits at the point where customer needs and market realities meet. He works directly with the operational and vendor data that shapes how moves are priced, matched, and executed — which means his guidance on what a move should cost, and how to get the best value, is grounded in how the market actually works rather than how it looks on paper.
Mark Conrad Senior Moving Operations Advisor, MovingPlace Mark Conrad is a Supply Manager at MovingPlace, where he focuses on growing and strengthening the company’s service provider network — expanding capacity, improving quality, and helping moving companies build sustainable businesses. Mark brings more than 20 years of experience to his work, and what sets him apart is the range of perspectives he’s accumulated along the way. He’s owned a small relocation business, worked within a mid-sized group of moving companies, and held roles at a large, publicly traded transportation and logistics firm. That combination — ground-level operator, mid-market insider, and corporate practitioner — gives him an unusually complete picture of how the moving industry actually works. Over the course of his career, Mark has been part of teams that supported several hundred thousand moving services, spanning consumer, corporate, military, and special projects. His deepest expertise lies in operations and supply chain management, with a particular focus on labor services, local full-service moves, and corporate and military relocation. At MovingPlace, Mark channels that experience into building a provider network that customers can genuinely trust — vetting partners, driving quality standards, and making sure the people doing the work are set up to deliver.
