I needed help unloading containers in Fredericksburg. I don’t know local companies so went online and found Step by Step with Hire a Helper. Ben and James did an excellent job, finished on time and with no damage or scrapes. I would hire them again in an instant and can definitely recommend them.

Alex and his crew were fantastic! They even contacted me due to a cancellation in their schedule to see if they could come a day earlier which worked out perfectly for me. They all worked hard, were respectful and responsible. They were also a lot of fun to be around. I would highly recommend them for moving in or out of a place or for just moving stuff arou d your house. They were a delight to work with!

David and Gilmer were meticulous AND quick. They obviously had experience assembling and placing furniture and made a sometimes stressful experience pleasant!

Alex and his Step by Step team were fast, efficient and treated all of my things like their own. They were able to unload a full 27 ft semi foot trailer into our 3-story house in 3 hours! If you are looking for a great move experience, I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

These guys were TOTALLY AMAZING!!! The packing job they did by using every inch of available space in the POD was like artwork. They were cautious with the furniture like it was there’s!! They were both friendly, talkative, and energetic. If you need someone to load your household belongings these guys are the ones you want.

The guys was so great and respectful and listen to what all I wanted them to move. I will use them again for my next move. On time and finish on time.

Alex and Edwin were careful with my furniture--from wrapping it to managing doorways to placing it in my new home. Alex was very considerate about details; when he noticed something about the placement of the furniture that would be a problem such as blocking a vent, he kindly pointed out the situation and suggested a solution. They ably managed a couch, table, and bookcases up the incline in the backyard from the basement door to the driveway. Their work was well done. However, I think there were some communication lapses. Before moving day, I called Hire A Helper to request that the movers wear masks; I was told that it was required. The movers did not have masks on and seemed surprised at my request, but they wore masks without complaint when I asked them to do so. The movers showed up an hour early. Luckily, we were ready for them. The truck they drove did not say Best Movers VA. It had the name of another moving company.

Eric & Hunter did exceptional work!! They were on time and worked very hard the entire time they were here. They were also great problem solvers capable of maneuvering some challenging furniture pieces being careful not to damage any furniture or walls. They were friendly and courteous. It was a pleasure working with them and would hire them again. Highly recommend this team!

I had both Jeremy and Joseph for my move. I had a 1 bed 1 bath apartment that had the furniture for a 2 bed and they did an amazing job. They immediately got right to work after asking me a few questions about preferences of packing the truck. They even helped us move a couple of things that we didn’t end up taking and never complained and never changed in attitude throughout the entire process. They were both extremely professional, nice, and respectful. Thanks again guys!!!

Highly recommended movers! Eric and Ricardo showed up on time, loaded and unloaded a 25' Uhaul in 5 hours. Both young gentlemen were professional, polite and extremely hard workers. I anticipated 6-7 hours for the job, and they completed it in 5 hours. Utopia refunded me the unused 2 hours. Excellent moving company!
